24.03.2009 Implico to Host IT landscape for TopazSAP and OpenTAS application to be set up in HamburgImplico today announced that Topaz, Ireland's largest downstream fuel supplier, has commissioned Implico to host the entire TOPAZ ERP and BI IT landscape, at Implico's Hamburg data center. The hosting and housing contract is the second agreement signed by the two partners. Just recently, in December 2008, Topaz opted for the implementation of SAP and OpenTAS with Implico serving as the general and primary contractor. Developed by Implico, OpenTAS is a universal administrative, shipping and automation system for the Oil and Gas industry.
Implico will provide the entire Topaz ERP and BI IT landscape as a service. The required systems will be set up by Implico's experts in the company's data center in Hamburg. The first components of the SAP and OpenTAS application will be available firstly for use as a development environment during the blueprint stage in March 2009.
Implico will take care of all aspects of technical operations including high-availability, high-end data backup and disaster recovery services, and software maintenance. In addition to Topaz, numerous companies from the oil and gas industry have already entrusted Implico with operating their IT systems, including Lukoil, one of Russia's largest petroleum companies.
