Demand for the all-in-one industry solution SAP OGSD (SAP Oil & Gas Secondary Distribution) rose significantly last year. The solution, developed by the international Implico Group, saw particularly strong adoption from companies in southern Europe. SAP OGSD provides optimum support for the commercial processes in the oil and gas industry and is marketed worldwide by SAP AG.In Italy alone, 1,000 SAP OGSD licenses were acquired by a single major petroleum and energy corporation in 2010. The list of new customers also includes companies from France, Greece and Romania, plus a second company from Italy.
SAP OGSD is an all-in-one solution for companies in the downstream industry. It supports the business processes of the petroleum industry, including both wholesale and consumer business, and integrates workflows from sales and transport planning through to the automated confirmation of all material movements to company accounting and reporting units.
